January allatonce

The new year started off pretty wonderfully.  We had fresh-baked almond croissants for breakfast on New Year's Day which has made breakfast every day since seem kind of boring.

And as a belated Christmas gift, Jack let mama get a shower!  She was deeeelighted.  It's always good to start a new year fairly clean!

Jack began a phase where his best sleeping seems to occur with his feet propped up.  I've tried this myself and it's not as comfortable as he makes it look. To each his own.

When awake, he loves to spend time in the frog, or as one uncle refers to it, the "evil genius machine."

We sold our old house where Grayson first lived.  Mommy was sad and sentimental and did things like take pictures of the doorknobs, but Daddy just said, "Finally!"

On days that the grown-ups had to go to work, grandmother M'tia sometimes made us dinner!

We were spoiled with watermelon in the middle of winter!

Grayson started wearing big boy undergarments to school evvveerrryy day and to celebrate we baked a cake.  He called it "potty cake".

Mommy and Oma realized they rarely do fun things together any more because one of them is always watching a little guy, so Brandon took over for a day and they took a painting class.

Gray was filled with glee that BB and her chickens were in a magazine!

Jack very much enjoys getting to eat food finally!  Just getting in a high chair makes him happy.

He also like his new baby toys, but since they are shaped like tools, big brother keeps borrowing them...

January (with the exception of two random 70 degrees days) was very very very very very cold.  We had to stay bundled up when we went outside!

Pipes froze and the heat stopped working, but Daddy got things going again.

When it was too cold to go outside, we practiced forward flips inside.

And when it snowed (even a teeny tiny little bit) we shoveled.

We went to church in our Sunday best.

And then had dinner out (in public!) with our best friends!  That was what we call a wildly successful Sunday.

When we ate at home, it was often yogurt.  And sometimes Mommy managed to have both chocolate and coffee in hers.

On car rides, Jack blew raspberries continuously and was often drenched in his own spit by the time we arrived at our destination.

Grayson found some of Daddy's old safety goggles which accentuated his extremely kissable lips.
