You saw, you conquered.
First, we headed [away from our actual destination] to the shuttle! A little bit by car, a little bit by devoted grandmother-piggy-backing.
Then it was time for your very first ride on a school bus.
Some day you'll do this every day... Sniff, sniff.
Before the ride was over, some had mysteriously sprouted facial hair.
And others had found more preferable seatmates.
The festival was amazing! After some wooden hoop action in which almost no other children were hurt and some frenzied tomato and food cart tasting, we found ourselves in the demo tent listening to the owners of a hot local catering company.
I'm not sure you understood how cool this was.
Maybe you listen best with your back turned? |

That's your aunt & uncle right there! |
Hopefully none of the other attendees were offended by the pole-dancing. And if they were, that they don't recognize our little mustached chippendale. |
Eventually, we made our way back to something you'd been thinking about since we first walked by it hours prior: "hammering".
I gave you the admission price of one dollar, you tested out your options tool-wise, and found a pair of goggles that fit.
You got helpful tips from the pros. Or maybe you were giving them? |

Jack - next year, buddy, next year! |
Before the day ended we ran into one of your favorite buddies from school and you decided together to climb trees in Thomas Jefferson's front yard while your moms talked. We made you stop and pose for pictures instead.
It was a good day!
